When people think about human trafficking, they often picture it happening somewhere far away—some big city or another country. But the truth is, human trafficking can and does occur right here, in PEI.
So, what does trafficking actually look like in our communities? How can we protect kids, recognize the signs and take action to help?

Trafficking can take many forms, and human trafficking myths often keep us from seeing what’s happening right in front of us. Education is key to prevention, and this event will equip you with the knowledge to make a difference. What better way to acknowledge National Human Trafficking Awareness Day in Canada (Feb 22), by attending this community event!
This free event is open to everyone—parents, educators, frontline workers, business owners, and community members who simply want to make PEI a safer place. No prior knowledge is needed; just come ready to learn and be part of an important conversation. Due to the sensitive nature of this subject, we recommend this event for ages 18 and up; however, we leave this up to the discretion of parents.
