Trafficking Awareness: Beyond the Headlines

Human trafficking is a massive humanitarian issue that exists in every community across North America. It happens in many forms, including labor, sex, and organ trafficking, and more often than not, it involves trusted individuals including family members.

Trafficking victims are not hidden away, or kidnapped like the movies show (although that does happen sometimes), but instead they are conditioned to conceal their abuse while engaging in everyday activities around us. Many do not recognize their own trafficking stories until years after they leave the life.

Law enforcement, healthcare providers, educators, and community members all play an important role in identifying trafficking and providing safe and trauma-informed ways for survivors to connect with the resources that they need to begin to heal.

Gaps in awareness, myths and misconceptions, and a lack of survivor-centered approaches have done damage to effective intervention and support.

Customized Awareness: Every industry and community faces unique challenges when it comes to identifying and preventing human trafficking.

EVENforONE provides tailored awareness programs designed to meet the specific needs of different sectors and communities.
