Volunteer Position: Individual Donor Relations & Outreach Volunteer

Location: Remote
Commitment:
Minimum 5 hours per week (but can volunteer more) with flexible hours and a minimum of a 6-month commitment

CEO and COO

Position Overview
The Individual Donor Relations & Outreach Volunteer assists in managing donor communications and outreach efforts, helping drive  EVENforONE’s financial sustainability. You will work closely with our Development team to engage individuals and share the impact of their contributions. This role requires creativity, organization, and a trauma-informed approach to engaging supporters and donors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the outreach and engagement of individual donors, cultivating strong relationships with current and prospective supporters.
  • Help craft donor communications, including emails, thank-you notes, newsletters, and impact reports, and other communications materials that highlight the impact of donations.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating donor records.
  • Help organize and coordinate donor-related events, such as virtual or in-person donor appreciation events, etc.
  • Research prospective donors and assist in creating outreach strategies.
  • Follow trauma-informed fundraising principles to prioritize survivor dignity and empowerment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations or customer service is a plus but not required.
  • Passion for nonprofit work and survivor-centered advocacy.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to connect with people and build relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Comfort with using digital tools and platforms (e.g., Google Suite, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate with a team while also working independently.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed donor engagement (training will be provided).
  • Comfortable reaching out to individuals, businesses, and organizations for support.
  • Must acquire and pass a background check

Training & Support Provided

  • Orientation on EVENforONE’s funding needs, donor engagement strategies, and grant research.
  • We’ll provide fundraising materials and templates.
  • Ongoing guidance and support from a fundraising supervisor.
