Volunteer Position: Grants Assistant Volunteer
Location: Remote
Commitment: Minimum 5 hours per week (but can volunteer more) with flexible hours and a minimum of a 6-month commitment
Reports To: CEO and COO
Position Overview
The Grants Assistant Volunteer helps drive EVENforONE’s financial sustainability by assisting with grant research and writing. This role requires organization, detail-oriented, writing skills and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential funding sources from government, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Assist with writing, editing and submitting high-quality grant proposals and applications tailored to funding opportunities.
- Assist with ensuring grant deadlines are met, compliance with reporting requirements and the terms of awarded grants.
- Help cultivate and maintain relationships with funding organizations, including providing follow-up information and reporting.
- Collaborate with the finance department to create accurate and detailed grant budgets.
- Track progress on awarded grants, ensure proper documentation is in place, and generate regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that all grant applications and reports meet regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Passion for nonprofit work and survivor-centered advocacy.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of grant application processes, funding regulations, and reporting requirements is a plus but not required.
- Comfortable reaching out to foundations, government representatives and granting organizations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- Ability to collaborate with a team while also working independently.
- A growth mindset and willingness to learn.
- Must acquire and pass a background check
Training & Support Provided
- Orientation on EVENforONE’s funding needs, granting organization engagement strategies, and grant research.
- Access to fundraising materials and templates.
- Ongoing guidance and support from a fundraising supervisor.
